Off to rehab
Hi, I am journeying down to a 3 month rehab today. It's a 12-step one. Hopefully I'll do okay. All my mates have said it'll be the making of me. I was tempted to drink but cannot as they'll kick me out when I arrive. Also, I have started having seizures and do not want to exacerbate them further. I'm really nervous as I'm not exactly a good mixer.
All that self-doubt is the addiction talking. Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses, and on this being the last time you ever have to stop drinking. I have not been to such a lengthy rehab myself, but I would wager that you probably do not want to go twice.
If you go with Willingness, Openmindedness
and Honesty in admitting, accepting you have
this illness of addiction affecting your mind,
body and soul and allowing those knowledgeable
in teaching you a program of recovery, then
you are already taking your first steps in
building a strong, solid foundation to live
your life upon for many one days at a time
sober and clean down the road.
Listen, learn, absorb and apply these tools
of recovery in all areas of your life as you
begin your new journey in life, recovery
and sobriety.
Im wishing you so much hope that you
embrace this new journey to achieve
what so many of us have already achieved.
Health, happiness and so many blessings
of the Promises in life and recovery.
