I could not/did not get sober until I gave up ANY pretense that drinking would be any sort of option under ANY circumstance EVER.

I think a lot of us just want to be normal, and we think normal means being able to drink.
But then when we do drink with our new knowledge gained from having not drunk (or finding, or PAWs or whatever) , we realize immediately that the way we feel about drinking isn't normal and not really fun either.
But then we get into the, but we've blown it mentality.
Don't go there, you have not blown anything, try again until it works, and it will if you believe it will.
I love your posts so keep hanging with us no matter what.
