Hey,

I had anxiety before I started drinking. Alcohol helped in the beginning but made it much, much worse in the long run.

I had some depression issues before I started drinking. Alcohol helped in the beginning but made it much, much worse in the long run.

Do you think you're ready to stop drinking alcohol?

We are here to give you support.

It is so hard to see a way out when you are caught in the depression, anxiety, and the addiction. I remember that really well and it was terrifying.

You've done a solid first step by posting what was going on with you--I think Dee's idea of picking the least scary thing may be the way to start.

I tried taking better care of myself even while drinking during my sober times by getting in some therapy, easy walks in nature, and eating good whole foods.

I don't know how you feel, but I had a lot of self-loathing because of my drinking that made me think I didn't deserve at some level to recover.
Looking at that honestly was my first big step to recovery.

You can get better. If I did, you can.
