Working on 3rd month of sobriety!

I haven't posted here in a while, but I thought about the forums just the other day and decided it was time to post again.

I haven't had a drink since January 25. I'm super proud of myself, and it's definitely easier this time around. I have such a drive this time and don't have any desire to drink, even in difficult circumstances. I find other ways to cope.

This is the longest I've been sober in several years. I'm noticing a lot of changes already. For one, my skin is brighter, glowing, and my eyes are shining (although acne has become my new best friend - on and off). I feel stronger and have more energy. I think I'm just starting to get my creative gene back. I'm looking into business ideas and I'm enjoying all my old hobbies again. I'm thinking about my future and what I'd like to accomplish.

Although I'm getting a divorce, I feel strong and empowered and I'm excited to see what else life has in store.

Just wanted to say hi! Life without alcohol is the best!!! I wouldn't trade it for anything ..... ever again....

Abby

Congrats on more than two months' sobriety, and on new beginnings!

I think having new opportunities and challenges helps break the old destructive patterns and promotes optimism.

You're an inspiration to me! I've only been sober for 18 days but already life is easier without alcohol than it ever was with it.

When I first sobered up, I wasn't sure if life would be good again. I was sick, shaking, and fuzzy-headed. But after only a few weeks, I see improvement. Skin/eyes look better, brainpower is coming back.

Thanks for sharing this encouraging message! Keep going!
