Drank yesterday
Drank yesterday, probably too much. Surprisingly I feel pretty good today. Probably go for a run. I do feel good about the fact I'll be spending St. Patricks day at my parents Tuesday and I know for a fact, I won't be drinking. I guess that's a positive.
Hope everyone is well.

Yeah, I read your post yesterday about the new "technique" you were going to employ, "So when Friday rolls around, I'm going to try and trick my mind into thinking it is Sunday or Monday," couldn't help but notice that you were waiting until next week to start it, though you could have just as easily used it yesterday...
So who's tricking who?

Mentally I feel fine, not gonna beat myself up too bad over it. As mentioned in previous post, looking forward to a productive, sober week.
The last New Years resolution I made was to never make another resolution and I haven't broken it yet. Promising yourself to not drink is the same dilemma. I know it is hard to commit, I have been through the same thing. I think it is about getting in the right mind set and just going for it. Planning ahead about how you are not going to do something almost never works. Make a firm plan of action and just stick to it. You just have to get far enough away from the mental impulses, stay strong for a few months and you'll get there. Most of us have been right where you are right now.
Sudz has got the right idea. Thomas your strategies sound familiar and I tried them all. Problem is that none of them ever worked and while I took two steps forward and three steps back I was slowly sliding into addiction and then the choice was taken away. If you can't control your drinking you have a problem and you can only apply half measures for so long. Good luck with St. Paddy's.
