Finding yourself
Becoming sober is a scary thing to face its like you have to find yourself again, this is a new you a sober you and that can be scary but like yourself,be proud of yourself because sobriety is brave
Agreed.
It's like dealing with all the rubbish in 'that' kitchen draw. It starts off as a jumble of unknown. You take it all out. Look at it. Accept it. Decide what can be thrown away / let go. Decide what to keep to deal with in the future. Occasionally we find something useful and pertinent, or just what we'd been looking for. Sometimes there's rubbish in there that actually isn't ours and can be handed back. And when we put it all away again it seems less threatening and mysterious, because it's more familiar, and we know where we put it and why.
