So so desperate this minute
I'm hanging in there but the alcoholic part of brain is trying to convince me a little taste will help how I feel right now, both emotionally and physically. I'm still shaking, but it's more my anxious, depressive feelings and my shame that are telling me a little won't hurt. Logically I know it won't of course, but it's overwhelming.

You can get by this and feel all the better for it tomorrow.
Stay strong.

yeah find a distraction idle hands are the devils playground . cravings are normally not all that powerful we just are good at making them powerful.
the only way to get through things is to push through them. it can stink at times but picking up a drink wont give you the forward progress your looking for. But staying sober and pushing forward will.

Everyone is different but the withdrawals can be tougher for people with other issues. I have anxiety like many alcoholics. Now that I am free from self-medicating my anxiety is so much better. Not perfect but much better. Hang in there, bright days ahead!!
Drinking will make you feel worse!
You have to talk yourself out of this...keep chatting on here or call someone. I know it's not easy but you can do it!
During withdrawal, anxiety and depression are magnified much worse. If you suffer from them normally then you can expect a rough ride emotionally for a few days. There is a biological component to it as your brain/nervous system adjusts to the absence of alcohol. The only time I ever had panic attacks was after drinking binges. I have anxiety issues sober but alcohol turns it into a whole different beast.
No drinking and time will bring huge improvement.

If you are lucky, you will only have to go through it once.
