Black eyes

I look like I got punched in the face in both eyes. More red though. Has this ever happened to anyone? I made a plan with my ex to go to an AA meeting when I get back from Atlanta for Christmas. I need to stop drinking as much as I do. I know.

I look up withdrawal symptoms all the time now. Not sure if that's happening? I don't drink every day. But I drink heavy when I do. Then I'll get thAt really fast heart beat. And shaky hands. Hate it.

Maybe you can hit a few meetings in Atlanta before you get back?\
or maybe see a Dr?

Your situation seems pretty out of control, lostgirll to be honest - you really need to do whatever it takes here to stop the slide, and you need to make stopping this slide your absolute priority.

You need to act now, not after Xmas.

Why do you think I need to see a dr? I hope don't seem like an ******* with some of the things I say on here. I just really want to know.

I looked like I had been beaten up after drinking heavily. My eyes were little slits and my face looked sad. Stopped drinking and I look much better. You can stop too.

I think everyone who quits should see a Dr lostgirll.
I'm certainly in no position to diagnose you, just offering good general advice

They can look you over and make sure all is well.
They may be able to help you find more help as well.

Yes, it's true for the heavy drinker, if we don't stop drinking we will probably age way before our time.

You don't have to live that way anymore if you don't want to lostgirl. It's your choice.

I'm happy you're here with us now at least. Please be safe.

That's definitely withdrawal symptoms.

It's impossible for us to say if you're at a dangerous level or not, but you've got to be careful when you get the fast heart beat and shaky hands.

I've had withdrawal seizures and there is something a bit different in the buildup to them. It's hard to explain, but it's like a level above just shakiness and rapid heart beat.

Stop it. You arent crazy. We have all been there. Look, you are on the verge of something very bad happening. You have to quit drinking. Drinking "less around family" isnt going to save you. You have to be seen by a doctor. I think everyone who quits needs to be seen.

I thought I was crazy too. I gave up. I dont know what clicked but something did. I thank God for it. I went to the doctor and here we are. I wont touch the stuff. I dont even believe in "normal drinkers" anymore. I think alcohol is bad news for everyone. It never ever benefits anyone (i mean unless you own a brewery)

Dont wait until after Christmas. Consider this day 1. Next year you will look back at your 1st sober Christmas and beam with pride. Im proud of you just for posting and realizing its caught up with you

((((hugs))))

Lostgirl, have you thought of calling your EAP line at work and getting help that way? Maybe with an inpatient or outpatient program? They would protect your privacy and help you find a program. But it sounds like you're getting to the point where you have to make a decision to stop completely, one way or another.
