Glad you left. The threat of violence is a very serious offense. It is unacceptable. Zero tolerance for such behavior.

Glad you made boundaries and set them. Make sure you keep sticking to them. I'm in the process of divorcing my verbally/emotionally abuse wife which also impacted my drinking. Its hard but it can be done. Stay strong.
