Has this ever happened to anyone?

Out of the few months that I've been drinking heavily (pretty much everyday) I've never experienced withdrawal symptoms. Just this week I went over 40 hours without a drink and I was fine. I did end up drinking last night and woke up in a good mood and I felt fine; a little hungover but not bad. But then about an hour or so all of a sudden I felt confused, I couldn't think clearly, and I was very panicky. I felt like I was having a panic attack except I my brain felt foggy. I could remember everything I did before but I just didn't feel right, I felt like I was in a daze or something. I just felt awful. I feel much calmer now, not entirely right but better.

Alcohol affects the brain pretty profoundly.

Have you thought about stopping for good?

That's your body wanting more and more the addiction grows the more you continue to drink and the relapses from what I've read get tougher too best just to steer clear go through WD pref after speaking with a doc and keep posting your experience there is a 24h thread designed specifically for this

If I can help further just ask good luck

Yes, withdrawals got progressively worse for me, it's pretty common actually. They can actually get to the point where they are dangerous, even life threatening in rare cases. Please see a doctor if you have medical concerns. The next time will most likely be worse, so perhaps you should consider a plan to keep next time from happening in the first place?

It's happened to most of us here.
I would see a doc and talk about your plans.
The chatroom here is great for help and support.

Thanks for the replies. It's been an easy day, just relaxed and tried to stay positive. I feel better knowing that others can relate, at least I know I'm not alone.
