feel terrible

I've got to go t-total again. I've had a day off work and just drank. My wife was really dissapointed .

I've been drinking at the weekend, and i just cant do it.

I've read it on here but its true.

I cant do moderation.

I used to say to my husband, once the wine bottle is open, it's gone.

Go at it again, you'll get there!!

What's the plan this time? nothing changes if nothing changes ChefUK, something needs to change to produce different results!!

You can do this!!

I said yes i was i deserved that beer after all i had been sober for 30 days!! and i had a bad day i needed to blow off some steam she looked really sad I felt bad and put the beer back and didnt drink it. if it wasnt for her disappointment I dunno that i'd be sober today.

My idea of moderation was avoiding hard alcohol and drinking only wine. That went well. NOT.

The only good wine is no wine at this point. And I'm finally ok with that. So many years wasted. I will waste no more.

Lisa.

I agree with soberjuly - once the bottle is open, it's gone. In my case I'd proceed to open a second bottle. There was never enough to take me where I was trying to go (still not sure where that was ).

You learned something Chef. There's nothing in it for us anymore. We don't need it.

If you can really accept you can't moderate - ever- you'll be miles ahead on this recovery thing, Chef

Yep--the moderation idea is the Achilles' heel for many of us.

Once I did finally get I wouldn't / couldn't drink "just a glass or two" life got much easier.

Even the good wine or beer with quality food thing isn't an issue any more.

My palate has actually cleared and it much sharper since I quit too.
Don't know if this is an issue for you Chef, but it sure was for me.
Big part of my quality of life was / is dining.
