I don't believe I ever had the pleasure of speaking with her, even though my original join date overlapped the time she was active here. Problem was, I was rarely active here. Out of curiosity, I looked up some of her old posts and saw that her sobriety date was sometime in 1981 (?). Over 30 years? That, in and of itself, is awe-inspiring! Must have been a great lady, indeed.

I'm saddened to hear this news as well. I had joined SR a year before Laurie had. She helped so many people here, including myself. I even had the pleasure to talk with her on the phone one time. She tried so hard to get me to wake up to what I needed to hear. If you can read this Laurie, guess what? I've finally got it, thanks for the years of service work you did.
Laurie, such a good person. I giggle thinking back at some of her posts too. One I recall her mentioning, she marched to a beat of a different drum, mentioning aliens lol ((((Laurie)))))
I can picture her and Vic together right now. I hope she gives our Vic a swat for me, until I'm able to.

She reached out to me too, when I was in a bad way. That was a couple years ago, now. She offered friendship. And good feedback.
I didn't reach back much....a habit of mine. Now I'm sorry I didn't push myself to reach back-- I was embarrassed of myself for being in so much pain.

Oh my goodness! I am so shocked to hear this! She helped me so much. I will miss her, and I thought about her success and story so very often. Im lost for words, and deeply saddened.
