Why I love weekends

Hi guys, hope you are all doing good with yet another weekend upon us, and I got to thinking how much my desire for life has changed dramatically since I have abstained from drinking, I would never have just jumped in the car and headed off for a drive on a sunny day, loving life.

Picture of Loch Katrine, Scotland. Taken yesterday ain't it just stunning?
Have a good one guys.

It looks wonderful Stoogy. (Not unlike where I am...mountains & lakes).

You're so right - the last thing we wanted to be bothered with was a car ride and photography. Would've eaten into our drinking time. What a shame! We're back now though - and loving life once again.

Stoogy thank you for the peek!!! Stunning

I got up this weekend and saw the dawn I took this picture of the Mediterranean!!!
Before I would be wasted for hours and hours... I would not get up!
and no way I would have taken the picture either!!!

Many great weekends and weekdays ahead of us!

Thanx HeadLump, not photo shopped at all just snapped straight from my iphone. Loved seeing the snow on the mountain peaks along with the spring sunshine. One of life's little wonders.. To think I would have in times gone by be stuck in front of the tv chugging beers, what a waste when life can be this amazing just outside your front door.

For me, a true appreciation of Nature has been one of the very best (and unexpected) benefits of sobriety. Just looking at the acers in my front garden is enough to lift me for the day. I've been like a four-year-old marvelling at all the colours! I can't imagine what I'd be like if I lived that close to Loch Katrine!

Ah well, last picture before heading home to normality, look at what I used to miss when I would sit getting hammered instead of seeing the beautiful Scottish countryside.

God thank you Stoogy,

We should appreciate we are sober to see what is around us...
We are very lucky.

I used to live in Brighton and I loved the country side and the houses...
One day I will go to Scotland and Ireland...

I love the pics

Thank you so much for that Stoogy. I wish I could post where I was yesterday.....in a boat on the beautiful, quiet bayous of Louisiana. At one point I just looked up into the sky and said "Thanks, God! "

We missed a lot when we were drinking...... But no more

The only sea creature I saw was my crazy dog chasing fish😃😃
If you like fishing, you would not go wrong here my friend.
