No Time Like The Present
Well I'm a recovering alcoholic who has been sober for only 3 days. I lost my job earlier this week and I'm finally ready to get honest and get working on my sobriety! Like many people I have been in and out of AA meetings- got a sponsor about a year ago but she wasn't helpful and I basically fell off the wagon. Since then I've been drinking on and off- going sometimes a few weeks at a time without drinking- but just when I think I've got it all under control I get wasted again out of nowhere. I went back too AA two days ago and I have another meeting today. I'm excited about this forum- something about being honest with strangers is extremely helpful! I'm at risk for losing my husband and son- but more importantly- I know I'm in a fight for my life at this point- there's no time like the present....I know I can do this but not without help Glad to be here!
"got a sponsor about a year ago but she wasn't helpful" were you honest with her? it's your sobriety that is at stake here.....
"something about being honest with strangers is extremely helpful!"
Glad you are on SR! One day you can also be more honest in person, too. Give time time and heal well!
