Day 2 and another loss of a friend to the disease
Went to an AA meeting tonight and ran into a friend who used to come in with his son. His son was suffering from depression and addiction which led him to stop taking his insulin. He died last week at the age of 46. Last time I saw him months ago he was happy and upbeat and seemed to be doing good. The AV has one goal and one goal only -to destroy you.
I saw the same look in his fathers eyes that I saw in my parents eyes when my brother died at 42 "what more could I have done?". It's devastating to out live your children. I never what to make them suffer that again. I'm here for the long haul, folks.
Volstead.

I'm so very, very sorry to hear that, diffingo. I know only too well what suicide can do to a family Sending love and prayers your way.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Being around AA is a program of both positive and negative reinforcement. you get to see the success stories and unfortunately you get to see the failures as well.
My enemy wants me dead plain and simple. It splits me or from the herd and then it kills me but it does not have to be that way. My life in sobriety is better than I could have imagined four years ago.
