In hospital
In hospital
I have been dangerously ill since last Wednesday and could remain in the hospital for most of this week. I will be "cured" when all is said and done, but I will be living with lifelong side effects as a result of the treatment. I am concerned about my emotional/mental well being -- and hence, my will to remain sober. There is an unconventional therapy I intend to pursue aggressively. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
P.S. Illness has nothing to do with drinking.

Keep strong GroundhogDay, so sorry to hear that you are very ill, sounds that you will have a tough time ahead with the side effects. Please stay calm, your emotions must be all over the place. You have done well drink wise and continuing that will help in every aspect of your life. Keep your chin up
At home recovering from blood poisoning and surgery. Feeling better, but still have a ways to go. Probably be New Year's before I am fully recovered. Brain is foggy right now. The only silver lining--beyond the obvious one of surviving--is that I have perhaps finally kicked my coffee habit.
I am grateful for the tremendous support I received from friends, family, and hospital staff.
