Hello all. Today is my 50th birthday and I am celebrating it on my 62nd day sober.
I haven't had a sober birthday since 1988.
I spent 25 years - half my life - in an alcoholic haze. Sure their were a lot of good times, but probably more bad times from hangovers, health issues, guilt, regret, etc etc. Most of you know the drill.
I feel better today than I have in years. Thank you all for your support - you know who you are.

Thats awesome. The first year sober is great like that. each special event is super scary the whole "will i make it?" "will i remain sober?" then when you do its an expierience like none you've had in a long time and another awesome personal victory.
A very very happy birthday to you, doniker. I've been happier since my 50th birthday than at any other time in my life - I do hope it is the same for you! 5
And very well done for doing it sober! That is totally, totally BRILLIANT!!
