Sober at the Church's Bazaar
Yes an agnostic can volunteer at a church bazaar!
It's the Catholic church couple blocks from my place. I walk.
Last year I volunteered to serve beer and give sober rides home.
Trust me...Catholics can put away their fried fish and beer on a Friday night.
I can smell the fish and burgers and brats in my apt.
Last year I couldn't do it after an hour when several people I knew from AA meetings came up for beers. Awkward...somewhat funny...I just told the lead guy can't do it...someone else serve them. We did laugh a bit. No rides needed to be given.
Looking back if I volunteer it wouldn't be in the beer tent...smell...I insisted on plastic gloves
That was my volunteer experience.
Tonight just going over to watch a really great local band. I'll walk around with a soda in one hand and keys/camera in the other.
A good tip is to keep both hands busy...and don't stand too close to the beer tent!
