certain booze set you off but not others?

My booze of choice for getting blasted has always bourbon or scotch...stopped drinking (again) six days ago and made sure I didn't have any in the house...however, there's plenty of wine & beer but it really provides no temptation, curious what other people's "trigger" booze was

Beer and liquor have zero appeal to me... I was a wine girl. Can't have it in the house, but there is beer and I'm fine.

Beer, Beer, and then another Beer. I had my years drinking Whiskey but by the end I had developed such a love for the taste of Beer it is the biggest thing I still work on removing from my Psyche.

When I was at my worst, I would've guzzled anything to lessen the withdrawals. It didn't matter.

I'm not a picky drunk. Anything will do. In fact, before I quit drinking the first time I was drinking that high octane flavored malt liquor. Makes me sick just thinking about it. No...I'm afraid any booze but tequila would set me off, and if I wanted it bad enough that probably would do it too.

Beer, thats where it would start. I would tell myself to stick to beer and then after a few all hard stuff would be welcome: tequila, whiskey, shots of whatever.

I was a vodka girl but if nothing else was around (which was infrequent, I was always made sure I had my stash) anything could do. I really hate scotch, gin & tequila, but if withdrawals hit anything would have to do.

Wine, wine and more wine! Although, if I couldn't get my hands on wine, anything would do really. Oftentimes I'd reach for beer, even though it gave me severe gastrointestinal issues (but that didn't deter me). I'm not a hard liquor fan either, but if it was the only thing I could get, I'd drink that too. Really, I'd drink anything even if it made me sick, unfortunately.

While I agree in clearing your house of any temptation, let's face it. Most of us live minutes from where we can buy our poison of choice. Now, while those few minutes of not having it available can make all the difference in our sobriety, we need to know we are never going to drink, ever, regardless of our surroundings. Because, by goodness, one day we are going to find ourselves, like a fox, in the hen house...we better be able to leave those eggs alone.

Congrats on 6 days.

Wine is my trigger... Never liked beer or hard liquor but won't keep any around just to be on the safe side

I liked beer, good bourbon like Maker's Mark, and good dark rum. I hated cheap tequila, vodka, or gin

I would choose, and have chosen, water over tequila, gin or overly sweet liqueurs. I'd only drink whiskey or rum out of politeness and refuse refills.

Beer, cider, vodka and (to a lesser extent) wine or brandy are a different matter.

I wouldn't call myself a picky drunk though. I'll drink fine czech beer just like I'll drink Colt 45, depends on my finances really.

Blue Moon beer and vodka are not in my husband's liquor collection for a reason. And also no red wine.

Can't have any in the house. No wine, spirits or beer. I'm Celiac and drank gluten free beer, but if someone left regular beers in the fridge, I'd pile those on top of the GF beers I drank that night. Hangover + gluten= hangover x100. I used to tell my husband some whoppers as to why they weren't in the fridge anymore. I'm sure he believed me.(not)

The cooking wine seemed suspiciously low yesterday, during the binge I had last weekend, I might have hit that too.

Nope, nothing is off limits for me!

And in every one of these... the same simple, small, stupid molecule: C2H6O. Amazing how we have been in thrall to a two carbon chain.
