Super Bummed...

Home alone now... Was doing so well. 30 days sober, now I'm home alone. Drunk all by myself. Why couldn't I make it. Dumb me.

Hey Biff - don't beat yourself up - most of us find we need a few goes at this.

This is definitely not a one time pass or fail thing.

The best thing to do is dump whatever's left and take yourself off to bed.

Tomorrow you can look at what happened, and why, and work out what you need to add or what you need to do differently

Welcome back
D

Thats what makes staying sober so difficult. You go for a long spell like you did,and you think you have it whipped. Then before you know what happened,Mr alcohol sneaks up and gets ya.
The important thing is to not give up. And also not fall into the mindset of "I can't do this". If you let your guard down and think "I can't do it"..... well you know the results. You have to really want it.
Get your ducks in a row,and go for it again and learn from your mistakes.
All the times I failed I could look back, and realize I should have seen it coming.
I wish you the best.
Fred

Don't get into the cycle of remorse, guilt and shame and then back to the bottle to relieve yourself of those. You had 30 days - what do you think you've learned in those 30 days? What is your plan now to stay stopped?

Many have been in your shoes - don't get discouraged. You're back, and that more than many others can say. Stay - we need you

Your post made me realize how much 'being alone' is a trigger for me. Thanks for sharing your mishap. Onward we go, together.
