I'm back to living in Paris, how do I find a sponsor?
This might be an odd question, but how does one find an appropriate sponsor?
I'm a gay male, almost 30, living in Paris (again) and trying to quit drinking. I go to the english speaking AA meetings here. There are many.
But how do I go about finding a sponsor who wants to work with me? I dont know how I feel about just walking up to a random person after a meeting and asking them to sponsor me.
My internet connection in France is shaky, so I can't check the responses every day. If anyone has an idea about how I should go about finding a sponsor as soon as possible, please let me know here or by PM.
Thank you!!!!

Before chooseing a sponsor I suggest to everyone they
read the official AA guideline.....
Alcoholics Anonymous : Pamphlets
It's often found on the free literature rack in meetings.
Hope this helps...

If you are already going to AA you shouldn't need to ask a randon person, but someone that you have gotten to know a little bit from hearing them share at, before or after a meeting. Other that that, this is pretty much exactly what you need to do - just ask.

I don't know about sponsors but I feel that I should shout because you're the first resident of France I've seen here on SR. Gay male, 27 y.o. and 9 months sober today! Looks like we might be in similar boats.
