How do you postpone a Holiday? When are they celebrating it?

A bowl of cereal or ice cream. That helped me.

That is kind of odd, but the bad weather is a good reason to postpone it...

It also helps with the mental fog too, I've been munching on plenty of sweet stuff lately, especially around the evening.

I think they're doing it Monday in NJ. It's still too dangerous for little kids to be out right now. I think it was a good move.

Lately (at the close of day 9), I NEED my dark chocolate or ice cream at night. I'm hoping the cravings for sugar will subside a bit once I achieve more sober time!

But...it IS better than over two bottles of wine...right? right? :/

I've heard pistachios also help curb cravings. This came from a friend who is in an out-patient program.

I am not diabetic, exercise and eat healthy otherwise.

I like:

gummy savers- household staple
dove dark chocolates
chewy sweet tarts
mini snickers

The problem with eating candy is after eating it you will have a sugar crash and be craving again in a very short time. I have found that a fruit smoothie with protein powder will curb the craving and last much longer because the protein burns out of your system much slower than carbohydrates.

It's been close to 6 months since I stopped drinking, and I never ate very many sweets before, but now I crave chocolate around dusk every day. I eat a couple of mini Baby Ruths and I will make a trip to the store just to get them if there are none in the house. I am chalking it up to my body still adjusting to life without alcohol and I am not really concerned about it. It's just a strange phenomenon.
