Finally did it...my first AA meeting
It was good, but awkward-got the Big Book and gonna do a lot of reading. The biggest thing that stood out, was this one man saying that his life started becoming "smaller and smaller". So true for me. He said, "It was go to work, come home, drink, and go to work"
Super nice people, but probably about 10-15, which I was less than I was expecting. I really expected a room full. Instead, as a newcomer, I stood out like a sore thimb, I am sure. for all the help and support

This is great news.
Welcome Home, and like it was said keep going to different ones. And grow your network.
I love small meetings.
Keep living the dream, and stay on the beam.

Great job! My home group varies ... some days we have 40-50 people and days like today, we had like 15-20. Big groups are great because there is a lot of sharing, but small groups are more intimate and sometimes we can go deeper when the group is small. Regardless, congrats on your first meeting! Keep going back.
Try a different meeting. In fact, keep trying meetings! Some near me are as little as 2-3 people or as large as several hundred....it depends...on the day. Even the small meetings can have large numbers of people attend. Each week is different!
Keep coming back!
Keep coming back!
Wonderful! Only alcoholics understand each other, we relate to each other completely. I hope you go back and let people know you're new. It was the support of the fellowship that got -- and keeps -- me sober. I couldn't have done it alone.
