Looking Back at Week 1

So, it's been a week sober for me, and while I feel vastly improved physically, I still have quite a bit of mental fog packed in. I know this is normal and it has cleared up faster in past periods of sobriety, but this time it seems to be hanging around longer and stronger..

Just curious what everyone's experiences have been with the early sobriety fogginess, I know it's different for everyone, but just trying to get an idea on what others have dealt with and done.

I will tell you how foggy I was the first several weeks. I was going to lots of AA meetings and basically following around the women who were sober a long time. They took me to a meeting called Foglifters. I went there at lunch every day. It took me about 4 weeks to "get" the name. I suddenly had this "a ha" moment.
So you're not alone.

I was foggy for quite a long time - but I'd been drinking all day everyday for several years...

It takes time for mind and body to recuperate...give it some time and try not to worry Celtic...Of course, if you are concerned, or it's negatively impacting your life - see a Dr., just to be sure

Nah, I'm not concerned, I guess I was just wondering what other people had experienced with it. I've gotten through it before, and this will be the last time I'll have to do it. I'm just anxious to getting back to enjoying life's details that I have been numbed to by alcohol for the past couple years.

I think doing Crossword Puzzles and word games such as Scrabble
helped me hone my saturated brain in early recovery...

To play Scrabble alone...I set a kitchen timer for 30 minutes.
At first my goal was to have 300 points when it went off.
Then I increased as I began to get back in balance.

Glad to know of your new week...
