Rehab in the military, does anyone have any experience with that?
Just like the subject says, I have refered myself for alcohol rehab and I am in the military. I don't really know what to expect and will be flying out in two weeks. If anyone has any clue what I can expect I would appreciate your input.

20 years ago when i sobered up in the MC, I was flown to a military rehab which was part of wing of military hospital. It was fine. Took blood and exam for my eval, talked to a few docs and then stayed there for 30 days. After a few weeks we could apply for weekends off base etc... Everyone was nice and a pleasant experience.
Not sure if that helps but my experience..

You'll be fine, it's an excellent program. It's realised that this is a medical issue not a disciplinary one so if you're worried about it being like boot camp all over again it's not. However when I went through failure was not an option, I either succeeded or was out the door. But I was ordered into it, it may be different if you're doing it voluntarily.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I was referred to the Army Substance Abuse Program when I was on active duty after getting a couple DUI's. They will do medical evals and psych evals to see just how big a problem you have. If deemed necessary, inpatient treatment IS an option. I don't know how self-referral works, but the ASAP program is a very good one, believe it or not, IF AND ONLY IF, you truly do want to stop drinking.
Good luck.
Good luck.
