18 or so in....

Well if my calculations are right, I've saved my liver from having to filter 18 or better bottles of merlot in the last 18 days. Also lost 5 pounds. So far so good..... Feel good 95% of the time. Didn't sleep that great last night and this morning had a ton of anxiety (which hasn't been bad this time around). I guess these things come and go....

gmaklay,

Congratulations on 18 days....to me the beginning was the hardest era. Yeah, I am surprised my liver is still operable. Take care.

I figured the 6 months or so of rich merlot every night was keeping the layer of fluff over my abs that I could not shed no matter how hard I trained. Now let's see if goes away...

That's been my experience (except I'm a beer and vodka drinker, not a wine drinker).

I tried for over a year to train and lose weight while drinking and didn't get too far. I remember reading that alcohol messes up the way food is metabolized so that fat isn't burned while alcohol is present in the bloodstream.

The drunken junk food binges don't help either...

The good thing is I don't really crave a drink. It generally takes me longer to fall asleep and sleep is key. I'm in Management in a corporate office for the Oil & Gas field so I can't afford to have bad days. So a good night sleep really is essential for me during the week. A bad night of sleep can trigger anxiety thatmkicks my butt the next day.
