Apology to SR
Recently our daughter-in-law was diagnosed with Stage 3B melanoma and underwent an operation to remove lymph nodes in her groin and hip area for biopsy. Her children (our granddaughters) are 4 1/2 and 3 yrs old and our family is in a great deal of discomfort, fear and uncertainty.
I thought that I was handling this alright and it does amaze me how we are doing as a family. It has; however, made me less patient and understanding with people, places and things and has jaded my responses to the folks here at SR. I am supposed to exercise rigorous honesty and it has become brutal honesty which is not necessary or positive.
I deeply apologize. I care for you all and wish everyone the best.
I have temporarily lost the capacity to express it in a positive way.
Please forgive me.

Hi Bob,
Sorry to hear of your families misfortunes. My best wishes go out to you.
I moderated a forum for 5 years. And two of the comments that were most memorable were apologies. No one always has the perfect choice of words. And if one always strived for perfect words then nothing would ever be said.
I was very pleased to folks in my forum say "oops. my mistake, i was out of line."
The poor word choices or "faux pas"s were irrelevant. The small gesture meant to show respect was big.
Seeing something NOT escalate from NOTHING was appreciated.
i wish "my" forum had more like yourself
best regards,
Tacks
