Went to my first AA meeting tonight
ok, no reread what ya wrote
"Everyone went around the room and said their name and what their problem is, I suppose
then ya wrote:
"A few others shared about letting go and allowing God to take the reigns."
does that sound like a problem shared or a solution shared?

Hooray for you!
My opinion (free and worth every penny): Don't be afraid to shop around for groups that better fit your comfort level. If I had to talk during the first meeting I would have never gone to another.

Commenting on the "repetitiveness" of the meetings/format/readings.
That creates a new path, of new ideas in our addled brains. The words become ingrained and when we are between meetings, they are there for us. I would find them popping into my head at odd times. And when I started falling apart, I could recite them to myself. It was comforting.
Also, doing that means that pretty much any meeting you go to, anywhere will have part of it that feels familiar and you will know you belong, you can recite the stuff in your head as it is read, the steps, the traditions, the purpose etc.
