DAY 2, brand new to this.

Hello all, Today is my second day of sobriety after I have tried repeatedly to stop drinking. This time I took the correct steps and told my family and close friends. My only problem so far is trying to find a higher power to believe in, something to turn to when I'm feeling the temptation. So I decided I'd give this site a go. It hasn't been easy so far, but here we go!

Welcome to SR BMT...Some great support on this site...Are you attending AA meetings?...Or just trying to find a Higher Power?...And congrats on your second day...You're making a good decision...

Right now I am actually not attending any AA meetings although I have been to one before. For some reason I just felt like it wasn't for me.

I find that frequent fresh air, masterbation and good food all help in recovery.

Agreed, I think they are the cornerstones of a good recovery program!

@BMT I use only this site so far and it's worked ok for me.

I don't want to stop you from trying to find a HP, but at the end of the day, sobriety comes down to you. I'm Christian, believe in God and all that good stuff, but when I stopped drinking I knew it was up to me. Although I believe God has helped me a long, the hard part and the dirty work is up to me. Congrats on Day 2 keep up the good work!

Good luck from a fellow DC native. You will find help here, and I hope you will find even greater power within yourself!

You are on the path, just walk it. Don't worry about where it leads. Keep marching.

Hey well done!

You have already provoked one of the most hilariously honest posts I've ever read on this board.

It only gets better.
