Texasguy, sounds a lot like my drinking too. Not really fond of the hard stuff, but I manage to get a buzz on with beer anyway. It's great that your wife is supportive, that should help a lot. I've a friend who hides his AA meetings from his wife and now she thinks he's cheating on her (nuts). If you find AA helpful, use it, in my own opinion, it's good to explore as many recovery options as possible. Have a search on the site or google AVRT, Rational Recovery and SMART recovery, if you would like some book recommendations, send me a PM, otherwise I'll get a spanking for advertising on the site. The Big Book is free, so I can mention that, AA works for a lot of people and has groups in most towns, so perhaps it's a good idea to drop into a meeting. Also, do some research into your nutrition while coming off the booze, I found that my physical condition was a big factor in relapse.
