I was the hopeless alcoholic.. Drank a liter a day or more.. Early mornings waiting for the liquor store to open.. Mental distress that was unbelievable...

Thanks so much to SR, my primary support group.. I've been on here everyday since 2009 and have the longest stretch of sobriety since my first drink in 1988.. Life doesn't magically become easy, but when the world hits you with things, your in a lot better position to deal with it..

I thought I was going to die an alcoholic.. Glad to know thats not true. I never think or desire alcohol anymore.. The thought of a drink scares me frankly..

Good luck with your journey.. It really gets easier with time.

Thanks everybody! And remember, you can do it too.. My current health scare has reinforced my sobriety even more.. There are a lot of people that don't have the choice of getting better.. So while you have a choice, PLEASE make it.
