Please please help

Im not sure if this is the right forum. I am desperate. I had a huge fight with my AH last night. This morning I went to talk to him again and he kept saying how he isn't worth saving, it was too hard, he's tried and tried with no success and how he wishes he were dead. I don't know what to do or where to turn. Can anyone give me any advice?

He refuses to tell me what I need to do to help him. He refuses to talk to anyone. He refusesto see a doctor. He says it's pointless.

Do you think he might try to hurt himself?

I'm sorry you are going through this - it must be really scary.

If you scroll down this page, to the bottom right, you will see a "Forum Jump" option. Using the drop down list, select Friends and Family forum. I believe you will find a great wealth of information from those who have struggled with an addicted loved one.

All my best to you - I hope your AH finds recovery.

The alcohol is keeping him chronically depressed. I personally reached depths of depression at the end that I didn't even think were possible. He will need about 30 days sober for the depression to begin to lift, and about 90 days or so to level out. Can you tell us what he has tried already?
