Alcohol is a major cause of cancer - Study finds
Yet Another reason why we need to keep up the good fight.
PARIS — About one in 10 cancers in men and one in 33 in women in western European countries are caused by current and past alcohol consumption, according to a study released on Friday.
For some types of cancer, the rates are significantly higher, it said.
In 2008, for men, 44, 25 and 33 per cent of upper digestive track, liver and colon cancers respectively were caused by alcohol in six of the countries examined, the study found.

As much as I want to blame alcohol for the world's ills, cancer is one where this simply does not hold true. This study they are referencing found a possible association, which is much different than establishing causality.
So, do one in 10 people with a diagnosis of GI cancers have a history of alcohol use, sure, does this establish causality, not even remotely.

Hmmm...
I survived my active alcoholism 22 years ago....cancer was not involved.
I survived cancer last year...my alcoholism was not involved.
However. both the PET early diagnostic test and
.the cyber Knife surgery that destoryed my cancer
were products of continueing research.
Therefore...
I think it's important that both cancer and alcoholism
are subjects of on going research....
