. Rock Bottom. Time to Quit.
I just turned 30 yrs old this month and have been drinking for over 10 years. Heck, I used to brew homemade wine in high school. Lots of it. I put away at least two 1.75 liter (big bottles) per week for the past 10 years and now I have a dull pain underneath my right rib cage. I know that is where my liver is and my chest is tight. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I'm sure he will have some blood work done so I can see how bad I f***d up my liver. I have never tried to quit but my health is scaring me now and it is time to give up the poison.
Are you ready to admit you're powerless over alcohol? That your life is unmanageable?
What if you go to the doctor and they find no signs of liver damage? What if you stay sober for awhile and your symptoms improve? Do you think you can drink normally?

I have the same pain on my right side and I'm 2 years younger than you. I'm so sick of drinking. I hate who I am when drunk. It's not even fun anymore. It's just something I do every night because it's a habit.
I'd be interested in hearing what the Dr. says. A few years ago, when I was pregnant, I stopped drinking and the pain on my side disappeared quickly and completely. That should tell me something.... you'd assume I'd get the hint from my body but I just keep doing this stupid behavior.
Good luck at the doctor. Is this Day 1 for you or have you been sober a few days?

Yes....seeing your doctor is always a wise idea ..please be
honest about your drinking and your desire to stop...
Many of us have found sobriety is beneficial ..a healthier
sober future can be true for you too.
