Don't know how to get help
I have tried to stop drinking on my own over and over without success. I know that it's time to stop that cycle and really reach out for the help I need. The thing is, and this is a little embarassing, I don't really know how to get the help. I want to try counseling because I have some pretty deep rooted childhood issues I know I need to work through. But how do you find a counselor? Do you just pick one from a directory and find out if they take your insurance? Do you have to be referred to one by a doctor? Is it expensive?
What about AA meetings? Do you just find one near you and start showing up?
