Hypnosis.....has anyone ever tried it?

Just curious. I have been listening to audio hypnosis recording on a variety of subjects. I was wondering if anyone else had found success using subconscious reprogramming through hypnosis wether taped or live. I tend to believe in the technique, but that's just me. I mean if it helps, why not try it. Also, my gut instinct tells me that the process will work better if you start off with a clear sober mind. I not saying using this to get sober, just maintain a level of sobriety over a long period of time. Your stories will be welcome.

I've never tried it, but a friend did for smoking. He's been smoke free for 3 years since. So, I guess in some instances, it can work. I still think the main ingredient is a willing attitude.

I've found that you have to find a quite place, listen by do not concentrate . I think by not focusing, the hypnosis reaches into the subconscious better. Also, I find it interesting that the limbic system, our old reptilian brain, strongly controls our desire to drink booze, as well as satisfy all our other anima-like behaviors, how nice! I wonder if hypnosis can kinda of bypass these urges.

Once the alcohol is out of your system, the issue is all mental. The physical dependence has been aleviated, so yeah, it's mostly in the brain.

For stopping smoking it was not successful.

For insomnia, couldn't recommend it highly enough

I've been utilizing and personalizing a form of meditation in my life and it's been insightful in many areas of my life. It's not for everyone but then again, what is?

I use Self-Hypnosis for sleep and relaxation and it seems to help me. I've had professional hypnosis for insomnia and to quit smoking. I'm still smoking, sadly.

I never tried it to stop drinking. I do recommend it for insomnia but it's something you have to use on a regular basis to get the best benefit.

Love,

Lenina

I tried it once and it had no impact on my drinking. It certainly will not alter our genetic makeup so we will remain alcoholics.

Not saying it won't help but I don't believe it is a silver bullet.
