What's the Open talk and #4 all about? I am not an AAer, and I could read up on it, but would be interested in how you would describe it.

Good Luck Daytrader. I'll say a prayer for you while I'm asking God to help me carry the message tonight. I'm telling my story for the first time at a group other than my home group tonight. I believe it is an honor and a prvilege to be asked to do anything in Alcoholic's Anonymous. I've told my story twice in my home group. I found the second time was a little easier. The first time was at about a year sober, and the second time was about 3 months ago. And a lot had happened between the first time and the second time so I had more what it's like now to talk about which was cool. I've learned that I'm adding to my story every day. And at one time I thought the only way to add to my story was going back out and "doing more research".

In this area, most meetings are conducted at tables with 8 ppl or so. An Open Talk is one person at a podium talking to the whole group. The purpose is to share your experience, strength and hope by telling everyone what it used to be like, what happened and what it's like now.

.....it's kinda like doing it on here only this is real life.

and like was mentioned above.... it's an honor and a privileged.

You're absolutely right, it's a big honor and privileged to do ANYTHING for AA....open talks included.

I hear ya on the "more research." That just sounds spooky now doesn't it?

I have a hard enough time with the troubles in my life NOW.....thinking of adding some booze to the mix just gives me the shivers!

Well, I made it... BP, how'd ya do?

I was a little more scattered than I'd like and I wasn't getting much back from the crowd so I don't I don't know that I'd give myself a high score but hopefully just one person got one thing that will help them.
