I relapsed
I was a year and a half sober and loving it, a week ago I drank and have 5 times after that. I haven't told anyone and nobody knows what I have done.
Just found this site and thought I'd give this a try. I'm not drinking today, and I won't. Just wanted to tell someone, kinda dissapointed in myself.

hi dave, i know the feeling all too well; i'm sure a lot of us here have felt it too.
when i drank after years of sobriety, i tried my best to look at it as just a slip, a mistake, and something to overcome--getting caught in feelings of guilt and shame just make it harder to move on from. this doesn't mean ignore it, but try to look at the positives of the situation--you can seek the reasons you drank, and strengthen your sobriety from here on out.
here's to a sober day!

Welcome Dave!
I am so glad you posted. It does happen and we are all human, don't beat yourself up. You did have a year of sobriety and you already taking action by posting.
Call someone you know that is sober and get some help. For me my choice is AA, there are so many people that are understanding and willing to help.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks again, all your support helped alot. I ended up calling a friend last night and let them know I had a slip. Rough time sleeping last night but still felt better this morning than after drinking.

Thanks again

Welcome Alaska Dave! I had over six months sober and relapsed. Now I'm climbing back up to where I was and have a month sober today. Don't beat yourself up too bad, just start over and take it one day at a time.
