Mental Fog

Hey,

This is my first post on this website, and my first post online about my dealings with alcoholism. I quit drinking on December 31, and have been sober for about six weeks. Last week was fine, I was productive and happy but this week I have been in a mental fog. I have been extremely depressed. I am bipolar, taking citalopram (antidepressants) and am meeting with my psychiatrist to see if I should adjust my medicine. I need to get on a mood stabilizer.

Also I take brahmi powder and lorazapram to help handle anxiety. I haven't abused either but have been feeling extremely anxious and tight.

Can anyone give me advice, thanks.

Samir

Have you told your primary care doctor about what you have been doing????? Often, extreme changes(such as quitting drinking) can bring about mood elevations in anyone. Full disclosure to your doctor ASAP is the best I can say. Be careful about advice you get here. There are alot of imaginary PHD's floating around.
