Day 8 of husband's sobriety
We are on Day 8 today and I am SO PROUD of him!!!! The change in my household is amazing! It's calm. I am not used to this at all. I have known my husband for 25 years and married for 19 1/2.
I did not consider his drinking to be a problem until 10 years into the relationship. I feel like I'm holding my breath. I know this sound awful and I feel terrible for it but after 15 years, I am still skeptical even though he has been doing really well.
I need to talk to some other "significant others" who have been in my position because I feel bad for not being ready to trust him. :ghug
