I'm still "enjoying" a bottle of wine a night. I've taken off a few days to a week several times in last 18 months, but just cannot get any regular non-use going.

I've recently been experiencing an generalized itching. Some days, it's my heel, then my wrists, then my back, neck etc. Surfing the web, I see that such itching can be a symptom of liver disease.

Damn! Probably should go to doctor, but am reluctant.

I spent mega bucks on a dermotoigist consultant for an answer to the itching...she said I had irittate the skin so bad scratching that it made it itch worse...her advise...if you don't scratch it wont itch.....duhhhhh real helpful.

But when I quit drinking the scratching went away. I am left with scars, but no new sores or at least not many.

I hadn't heard the liver thing, but I did have wacked out enzimes.

The doctor and honesty were the begining of my first steps toward sobriety. It took a while but I got here and now I wonder why it took so long!

I have also heard about itching caused by liver problems...but the liver is an amazing organ...all it needs is time to heal! You need to go to the doctor and get blood tests to check things out and give that liver a rest! Once I had all the tests (I was convinced my liver was shot) everything came out fine...next step stop drinking! I am only on day 4, so who am I to talk, but I can tell you I feel so much better!
