1 WHOLE month Today!
yay. lol. One month - sober. I'm too deadly! lol. So very alone - yes but sane and safe and sound of mind: Sobriety is so divine, so safe and, so true for us who've been through hell. I want to forever dance filled with the holy spirit, around the primordial fire of life and truth. The demons that dwell in the bottle, like a seventh level magician; are contained only by the fragile faith of the trespassed. Forever safe in sobriety, like a temple of sanctity I bansihed my fear to the strong rivers of hell: Never to take upon myself the drunking punishment of the demons who danced in my heart- Ever again. Peace out.

What an attitude of gratitude! Sobriety is such a special gift that you sure do know how Blessed you are.

Congratulations on a month! That is a huge accomplishment! Early sobriety (and even mid in my case) is very lonely. I just keep telling myself that when I come out of it, I'll meet people who don't suggest the bar every time you want to go out. There will be hiking, picnics, little league games, etc.
Loneliness is my biggest demon, but I fight through it. There is a book out there called "Your First Year Sober" where the author tells you to watch Nick at Nite for the first few months. It sounds stupid as hell, but you know, it's worked for me. Involve myself in an old rerun sitcom that I never saw the first time around because I was drunk. I look forward to those stupid shows every night.
