Being a meeting chairperson

Is there any requirement to be able to chair a meeting?

I had a guy at my Friday meeting come up and ask me to chair whenever I want. I also have wanted to volunteer at my home group and two other meetings that I go to.

The problem is that I have only two months sobriety.

Should I wait?

No don't wait - chair.

Chairing made me get up and become comfortable speaking in front of the group.

Each group has it's own requirements for chairing.
It's 90 days in my home group.

Ask the GSR or a long time member of a group
what that specific group does.

Glad you are interested in chairing....

My sponsor told me that when I was ready for any commitment I would know because someone would ask me.

Sounds like you are ready, ask your sponsor.

BTW each group determines the requirement for thier group to chair, keep in mind there are no rules in AA.
