Introduction
Hi everyone,
Its my first time on here. I've been reading the posts and it is great to know you are all like me. I have been in and out of recovery for around 11 years now. most i've done is 1 and a half years. I just got a week again, I attend meetings but i don't have a sponsor at the minute as i moved away from where i used to live. This site is great and you are good people. Am i the only uk member on here?

Thanks to all of you for the welcome. And to collinsmi for your honesty as i can sometimes feel i am the only one who just can't get it.
In meetings i can tell that some peoples attitude to the serial relapser is indignant. So it is very appreciated and good to know, there is always hope.
I need to smash my pride and ask for a sponsor in the area i have moved to. I was sober when i moved hear but i wasn't putting much effort into sobriety. My job and partner came first and now the job has gone and i know all too well what will be next.
Can anybody tell me if it's ok to put my story anywhere on this site. It's quite long, repetative and familiar but any advice about the site will be gratefully recived.
Again, thanks to you all

Why not use this Forum
and start a new thread?
If you are typing a long story
I suggest you do so in your Word Doc
then you can edit and save if you get tired.
After you do the Word Doc....you copy it
then paste it here.
Be sure and check the box next to Log In

Yes....we do have a Forum for stories.
To use it...the requirements are at least
1 year of current recovery time.
Also...it locks automatically ... meaning you can
not add nor can anyone reply to it.
All that to say...

Welcome to SR philosoffy, I am surprised Stone who is one of many from the UK has not welcomed you here. Get a temporary sponsor if nothing else for now. It took me 40 years to find the rooms so I listen intently when others share of a relapse, I am not sure I have another recovery left in these old banes, hopefully I will never find out if I do or don't!
Ignore those who turn a nose up to you due to relapse, they need to worry about thier own inventory a bit more! LOL In my area if someone relapses they are made to feel more then welcome back by the vast majority of folks. Folks who have relapsed and found thier way back to the rooms have much I/we can learn from. One thing I am always reminded of is just how really cunning, baffling, and powerful alcohol really is.

Thanks again to all. Thanks Tazman53 and again to Carol. You're all great. I have posted a plea if anyone lives in Orlando and goes to AA. I will be visiting next month and would be grateful for some contact before i get there.
Thanks
