Double Hugs and Prayers for your peace of mind

You might consider going to many AA meetings
and talk about this situation.
That's how I found a job...out of my field
Turned out to be interesting
I kept it for 6 years before I re-located.

Out of my field is where i am Carol, i was a studio musician who drank way too much, truck driving was a release and comfort to me. I also have a degree in accounting but cannot stand to be locked in a office all day, i feel like i am drowning in my own spit..
Where can i at the age of 41 find a new job thats going to hand me the money i need?

Take care.
John

I changed jobs to a different, though related area at the age of 40 and the income is great. It can happen. For now just breath, relax and yes meetings and sponsors help too.

Let us know.

I am sorry you are going through such a tough time. It is too bad that even in sobriety we have to go through the struggles of life. As much as I hate it when someone says this to me I have always found it to be true so I am going to say it to you. Not only will this pass but you will be stronger when you come out the other side. Keep your spiritual contact close and get to a lot of meetings you will get through this. Drinking will not make it better, it does have the potential to make it considerably worse though.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow, sorry PC!

In times like this. First, there is shock and awe.

Then the realization that something must change.

We must adapt if we are to survive.

We humans are good at that.

You will survive and thrive, bro. You just don't know how yet.

Best to you,

warren

Well Problem Child posting here is a GOOD start. Carol was correct. Talk about it in meetings, you will be amazed at what happens.

Also, you have internet, go to the home pages of MVT (Mesilla Valley Transport) and put in an application on line. You might also check out Savage, Watkins, etc. I believe they all take on owner/operators. No harm in checking them all out, most of the 'reliable' cartage companies have on line sites now.

Hope that helps.

Love and hugs,

Wow PC. I feel for you and will keep you and your family in my prayers. I know this has got to be incredibly scary, but it's great that you're not dealing with your fears by drinking. Hang in there. Things will get better for you.

John my friend just turn it over and do the leg work, it will come! Do as my first sponsor told me to do when I had a major issue, go to meetings and throw it out there on the table.

Tons of job leads have been found in the rooms, put out the word at meetings and do as Laurie suggested, grab a newspaper, there are trucking jobs to be had along with jobs that involve accounting. It is better to have an accounting job then no job.

Just keep in mind that a drink will not get you a job bro!!!! Turn it over and do the work, it will come, just give it time.

Thank you all for the response and support, life still stinks as far as in my world today.
It sux because in 19 months my home will be paid for if i do not lose it , and yes i can get another trucking contract , but the pay from most company's ? STINKS I had a good deal, plus the fuel i was only paying 76 cents per gallon when all was said and done.
Alot of others are losing there trucks and such because the company or broker is pocketing the extra fuel surcharge that sooner or later we ALL pay for, food, clothes, darn near anything. Oh god my head is spinning and im rambling>whinning...

Take care,
John

Yes , several with no luck as far as the pay i need to keep operating and stay afloat.
May have to sell my truck or just let it go back and drive for a company or work in a cubicle.
Take care,
John

John it is what it is, maybe you could lease or rent your rig simply for the payment and then take another job in the interim?
