2 Years Today!
Hi! I haven't drank since the day after Xmas in 2005, so it is two whole years for me. I have been fortunate enough to have been at the point for some time that I hardly think about drinking at all anymore. I actually don't think about it until around Xmas time, because I just happened to know the last time I had a drink, and that was Xmas, so there is no way I will forget what day that is, so I guess it is good to be able to have a timeline, and to be able to reflect on everything, even if it seems like I don't need to right now.
I sleep very deeply,(sometimes TOO deeply), but I am shifting gears right now toward everything positive and forward thinking(trying to advance in my career, being even more fun at home, etc.)
I know for sure that if I still drank, which I always did to the point of being drunk and passing out, I would not be in a good way at all right now, and that is probably putting it very lightly, but I don't want to get depressed in thinking about the bad that could have happened, but I think it is good to just know that I am the type of person that just can't drink, and that's that.
Merry Christmas to everyone, this place is great and I am thankful for everyone sharing their stories and experiences on here.
Thanks!

Welcome Kavakava!
Congrats on 2 years of sobriety! Thanks for sharing a message of hope here for people who are just entering their own recovery. I remember when it was difficult (for me) to go more than 3 hours without a drink or a joint. One day at a time, we CAN get better. Thanks for showing us that it IS possible!
I hope we'll *see* more of you around here.
God bless you.

THANKS A LOT EVERYONE!!! This kind of support and encouragement is what will help people get out of whatever problems they are facing, and is what makes this board a great place. I really appreciate all the responses!
