Still here, still sober :0)
I just thought I'd pop in and say hi, I've been reading, as always it's great to see the help offered :0)
It's well over a month now since I quit drinking, it's certainly been challenging, especially in my sessions with my drug and alcohol counsellor.
We are doing trauma work, it's hard and the cravings come on very strong when we are talking, all an indication that that is where I need to go to heal.
I've also been taking Revia which is helping a little. Not so many cravings this last couple of weeks since I started taking it.
All in all making good progress, I'm very glad I have uni to keep me busy though, no time for idle hands and boredom :0)

Congrats on the time, every day sober is a better day, keep working on the changing, changing myself I have found to be crucial to my healing/recovery.
BTW the Revia did nothing for me, I have heard it works great for some folks, funny how some things work for some and not for others.

I too find sometimes going to my therapist and group can be exhausting but again, no pain, no gain I suppose. It's a good way to get rid of all the bad stuff of the week.

Hi again - thanks for the replies. :0)
Lots of positive changes and I've noticed a huge improvement in my skin since I stopped drinking too, it's quite amazing in such a short space of time.

Hi, NTBF and congrats on your sober time. It is not easy; nobody says it is going to be easy. But it is so worth it. Re going over things again in counselling-- you're not the first person to need that. I believe it is healthy. I know many who have been sober for many 24hours (including me) who have done the 12 Steps of AA repeatedly, getting more out of them each time.
Best from the Snowgoose.

snowgoose my sponsor has made sure that I understood that completing the steps did not mean I had graduated and that I was not cured either. LOL The freedom, serenity, & strength I have found in the steps has been beyond belief, and I beleive the old timers when they say they find new meaning and strength in the steps every time they go through the again.
