Hello SR folks!
I've been away for a while, recently relocated to a city about 600 miles from my hometown. It's been pretty lonely so far. I haven't had a lot of luck finding a job in spite of actively looking. On Friday I had a person call me back and tell me I had a job, and he would call me today so we could get together tomorrow to work out the details, and I did not hear a word from him. And I have sent out 20+ resumes without even a rejection letter in response. I seem to remember when companies at least acknowledged you had applied for a job but I have heard nothing. It makes me feel invisible. On the upside I have spent my days without alcohol, mostly job searching, reading, swimming, walking and keeping the house in order. But I did slip up in the past few weeks and I am kicking myself for that. I want to go to AA but I am feeling shy and isolated, I don't plan on letting that stop me for long though. I am just trying to deal with rejection and feeling unemployable. Anyway I hope you all are doing very well. It's nice to be back. Take care!

Wow...Glad to see you again
When I moved to Fl. I knew no one except my family.
I hooked up to AA and found an interesting job
by talking to members.
Actually...had several leads...took the best.
Blessings

Thank you Carol, I appreciate your message. My motives for attending AA are 1) maintain sobriety 2) find sober friends and 3) maybe find a job. I need to make productive use of this extra time on my hands. Thank you for writing. It always feels good to be here.
Welcome back Daisy, forget the slip, hop on to the AA wagon, stay sober, make some sober friends, get some job leads.
BTW check out some temp places, good way to get a full time job or at least some cash to get you by.

Hey Daisy,
I'm in the same boat, unemployed. I too remember when you got a response when you applied for a position. It is frustrating. Hang in there. My sponsor has told me that I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I'm going with that.
big hugs,
Karen
