Taking steps
I have a Dr's appt in the mourning, blood work to see what damage i have done to myself and YES to work out a plan for recovery. Not drinking today but i want to, it is strange now,but good, for some reason i want to stay sober more than i want to drink. I hope that i can keep this feeling forever..
Thank you all for listening , again, will post when i find out more.
God Bless, John

One day, one moment, and one step at a time on the road to recovery. I'm very proud of you for continuing to take those steps, John. It's difficult at times, but so worth the effort. Prayers going out for your health.
Good work John.
Taking things one day, one hour, and one moment at a time is the way to go. I hope things go well with the doctor. Keep posting, k? There are other people just like you who struggle with this disease. We can help each other stay sober. Sobriety isn't always easy, but it is better. I hope you stick with us, and I wish you all the best with your recovery plan.

Dr visit went good today, tests that could be done at the office were all fine ,the others ? Well i have to wait until monday to find out, long weekend ahead.. But still no drinking and feeling pretty good.........
Glad to hear the news so far is good, my liver enzymes were back to normal in 3 months, the swelling took about 6-7 months to go down completely. Funny thing half of what I thought was a beer belly was a swollen liver!!!!

And I send ESH (experience, strength and hope) to my friend JohnProblemChildTruckDriverGuy, who seems to be following the sincere and caring suggestions he has found here.

Well my AA meeting went ok and i got several #s everyone was very supportive, whats bothering me is that i feel the urge to drink even though i don't want to.. My question is , am i FULL or not ? or is it just the disease talking ? Or do i have a reservation in my mind to drink again one day? Very confusing , maybe i am thinking to much at once. One thing is for sure i have not nor will i drink today !!!!!!!!
God bless, John

I don't know Jon but I can tell you what worked
for me in early sobriety....
I timed my cravings. They were 5-7 minutes in duration.
Not too long too endure discomfort.
Soooo....I took action.
Walk around ... brush teeth...drink cold water...a Lifesaver
Within 2 weeks...the lessened in both time and intensity.
By 2 or so months .... they vanished.
Now...were they mental or physical?
Darned if I know. Nor do I care.
