four week report

Yesterday made four weeks sober for me. Life has been good or at least much much better than when I was drinking. I've been able to get reacquainted with my wife and kids. I realize now how much I missed during my selfish drinking days. I just finished reading under the influence and what an eye opener that was. I learned so much about myself and why I'm the way I am. I've thought in the past when I quit that I should not drink again, but I did not know why. Now I have a better understanding of why I can not drink. Anyway just wanted to report in and say hey to everyone.

Congrats Tkdan, check out "Beyond The Influence" it is a follow on to what you have already read in "Under The Influence" not only does it have more up to date research, but it delves into the long term recovery programs and how important they are. A must read in my book!

Congratulations! I second the suggestion for reading "Beyond the Influence". That book made all the difference in the world in helping me to understand this disease and why I can never drink again.
